OS X Compatibility

Office for Mac 2016 requires Yosemite 10.10.

Office 2011 runs under Snow Leopard, Lion, Mountain Lion, Mavericks, Yosemite, El Capitan and Sierra.

Office 2008 runs under Lion, Mountain Lion, Mavericks, Yosemite and El Capitan. There are a few minor quirks under Mavericks and higher. While the Office 2008 apps will open in Sierra, you will get crashes and unexpected behavior. Not recommended for Sierra. Office 2008 is End of Life software. It will receive no further updates.

Office for Mac 2004 is a PowerPC app and will not run under Lion or newer. Runs under Snow Leopard. Office 2004 is End of Life software. It will receive no further updates.

Office for Mac X is a PowerPC app and will not run under Lion or newer. Runs under Snow Leopard and older versions of OS X. Office X is End of Life software. It will receive no further updates.

If you have upgraded and can no longer access your email, you can contact me for recovery and upgrade to either Entourage 2008, Outlook 2011, Outlook 2016 or Apple Mail.

Exchange Users: Entourage 2008 supports Exchange 2003. Outlook 2011 requires Exchange 2007 or higher. Outlook 2016 requires Exchange 2010 SP2 or higher. Support for Exchange 2007 has been dropped.
