Open terminal and type: ls /dev/tty. Note the port number listed for /dev/ttyUSB. or /dev/ttyACM.The port number is represented with. here. Use the listed port as the serial port in MATLAB ®. However after troubleshooting I ended up sticking a USB 2.0 hub between to the MAC USB (which is USB 3.0 b default) port then sticking in the cable used to program Gemma to the hub. Additional Tips:-Use a 2.0 hub-WAIT at least 10 seconds after Gemma Powers up - Press the button on the Gemma-Immediately click 'UPLOAD' on the Arduino IDE. Jul 06, 2015 How to Use Additional Serial Ports on the Arduino MEGA 2560 and Due. The additional hardware ports on the Arduino MEGA 2560 and Due can be used in the same way as the main USB serial port is used in sketches, only changing the name of the port. The USB serial port, or serial port 0 is referred to as Serial in sketches. I get the wrong USB driver (iMac OSX 10.11 El Capitan). My board is UNO with USB driver chip MEGA 16U2. As I connect the board to the computer and start Arduino-software (IDE 1.6.5) I get USB driver: /dev/cu.usbmodem1D11 This driver does not work. As I used also my laptops in my laboratory at school (Macbook Air OSX 10.11 El Capitan), they work.
avrdude: Error: Could not find USBtiny device (0x2341/0xc9f)
I also know I have a good cable and the device is connected, because I can type 'system_profiler SPUSBDataType' in a terminal window and I get this:
Trinket:

There was a note on the Gemma web page that it might not work with some USB Ports, so use a hub, which is what I am doing. The 'Port' item in the tools menu shows only one option: '/def/cu.Bluetooth-Incoming-Port'. I saw a post here from another person with the same problem; but I did not see an answer. I have not included the code, it is a very simple 9 line 'sketch' to make the LED blink, because don't think that is relevant since it looks like the compiled code is never making it to the device. I am a retired EE with 30 years experience, but I have never used an Arduino device before, so it is entirely possible I am overlooking something simple. I am also pretty thick-skinned, so feel free to be as blunt as is efficient.

Home Questions Tags Users Unanswered. If you have a cheap Chinese clone then you probably want the CGG drivers and good luck with those.

I am not sure if my Arduino is genuine or cheap chinese knockoff. I got it off from Amazon as a part of IOT starter kit. It worked properly in the beginning and as I mentioned I did some projects on it. Unless you went through the rigmarole of installing the CGG drivers and you'd remember doing that, trust me then it's probably like a genuine Arduino with an ATMega16U2 chip as the USB interface - however, is it actually genuine?

Also it appears that the Teensyduino loader won't be able to reboot the Teensy automatically requiring a buttonpress each time. The fix is to disable 'SIP', in the Recovery console.
Details here - http: Might be helpful for the Teensy project, but risky for the Mac - so always be aware you are disabling a security measure which has a certain significance More informations here This should not be necessary for Teensy. Teensyduino never installs any drivers on Macintosh or anything else requiring root access. The serial driver is built in to every version of OSX. But Teensy uses only the built-in drivers from Apple. However, Teensyduino does modify your copy of Arduino. That can make Gatekeeper unhappy.
